On 14th May 2024, the House of Lords debated Commons reasons and amendments to the Digital Markets, Competition & Consumers Bill. Votes were held on further Lords amendments to the bill, in which Bishops took part:
Division 1:
The Archbishop of Canterbury and the Bishop of Manchester took part in a vote on two amendment tabled by Baroness Jones of Whitchurch, specifying the ways in which appeals to penalties imposed under the bill can be used.
The amendments were disagreed. Content: 221 / Not Content: 222
The Bishop of Manchester voted Content, and the Archbishop of Canterbury voted Not Content.
Division 2:
The Archbishop of Canterbury took part in a vote on an amendment tabled by Lord Moynihan on regulations for secondary ticketing facilities.
The amendment was agreed. Content: 228 / Not Content: 213
The Archbishop of Canterbury voted Content.
