On 6th June 2023, the House of Lords debated the Retained EU Law Bill following Commons amendments. Votes were held on motions to add additional amendments to the bill, in which a bishop took part:

The Bishop of Leeds took part in a vote on an motion tabled by by Lord Krebs to insert a new clause into the bill to ensure that any changes to EU Laws would not dilute environmental protections or contravene international environmental agreements, and to ensure transparency in the implementation of changes.

The Bishop of Leeds took part in a vote on an motion tabled by The Bishop of Leeds voted in favour to a motion tabled by Lord Anderson of Ipswich to insert a new clause into the bill that would require parliamentary scrutiny of ministerial decisions taken under section 15 of the bill.
