On 27th June 2023, the House of Lords debated the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Bill in the second day of the report stage. Votes were held on amendments to the bill, in which Bishops took part:

The Bishop of Manchester and the Bishop of London took part in a vote on an amendment tabled by Lord Garnier to “remove the exemption for organisations that are not “large organisations” from the failure to prevent [fraud and money laundering] regime so that there are no exemptions, although the statutory defence will apply to all.”
