Votes: National Security Bill

On 4th July 2023, the House of Lords debated Commons amendments and reasons for the National Security Bill. A vote was held on an amendment to the bill, in which Bishops took part:

Division 2:

The Bishop of Exeter, the Bishop of Leeds, and the Bishop of St Albans took part in a vote on an amendment tabled by Lord West of Spithead to leave out subsection 2 of the government’s amendment 122c, which would place a limit on the amount of time the Intelligence and Security Committee would have to consider “whether the memorandum of understanding under section 2 of the Justice and Security Act 2013 should be altered (or replaced) to reflect any changes arising out of this Act.”

The amendment was disagreed. Content: 201 / Not Content: 210
