Votes: Holocaust Memorial Bill

On 4th September 2024, the House of Lords debated a regret motion to the Holocaust Memorial Bill. A vote was held on the motion, in which Bishops took part:

The Bishop of Southwark and the Bishop of St Albans took part in a vote on an amendment to the bill tabled by Baroness Deech: “at end to insert “but this House regrets that the Bill fails to allow for a full appraisal and consultation on any preferred site for a Holocaust Memorial and Learning Centre; and that in preparing the bill the Government have failed to establish the true cost of the project or deal with issues of security around the Memorial”.
