On 8th January 2025, the House of Lords debated the National Insurance Contributions (Secondary Class 1 Contributions) Bill at its second reading. Votes were held on a motion to commit the bill, in which Bishops took part:

The Bishop of Norwich and the Bishop of Leeds took part in a vote on an amendment to the motion tabled by Baroness Williams of Trafford:
“as an amendment to the motion that the bill be committed to a Grand Committee, to leave out “Grand Committee” and to insert “Committee of the Whole House”.”
