Votes: House of Lords (Hereditary Peers) Bill

On 9th July 2025, the House of Lords debated the Hereditary Peers Bill in report. Votes were held on an amendment to the bill, in which a Bishop took part:

The Lord Bishop of Hereford took part in a vote on an amendment to the bill tabled by Lord True, which “would mean that unpaid Ministers would not be eligible for membership of the House, effectively requiring all Lords Ministers to be paid,”, with a clarification that this would apply only to future ministers and not to existing members of the House.
