On 8th December 2021, the House of Lords debated Commons Amendments to the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill. Votes were held on further amendments to the bill, in which a Bishop took part:

The Bishop of Manchester took part in a vote on a government amendment tabled by Lord Wolfson of Tredegar, which would introduce a new clause imposing a life sentence for those found guilty of unlawful act manslaughter against emergency workers.
