On 5th July 2022, the House of Lords considered a motion regarding the sitting times of the house. A vote was held on an amendment, in which Bishops took part:
The Senior Deputy Speaker: To move to resolve that, with effect from 6 September 2022, this House should sit at 1pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, normally rising by 8.30pm on those days.
Two Bishops took part in a vote on an amendment to the motion brought forward by Lord Forsyth of Drumlean (Con):
“to leave out from “move” to the end and insert “that this House continues with its current sitting arrangements”.”
The amendment passed. Content: 158 / Not Content: 124
The Bishop of St Albans voted Content, and the Bishop of Leeds voted Not Content.
