The Bishop of Durham received the following written answer on 14th December 2022:
The Lord Bishop of Durham asked His Majesty’s Government what estimate they have made of the number of people likely to be granted resettlement in the UK for (1) the remainder of this year, and (2) the following two years thereafter.
Lord Murray of Blidworth (Con): Currently, our commitment to resettle refugees is a multiyear commitment with no specific targets. The numbers resettled in a particular period will depend on a range of factors including the flow of referrals from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in the field, and the availability of suitable accommodation and care packages in the UK.
We will manage the flows based on need and in support of the wellbeing of the people and communities involved.
