On 28th March the House of Lords debated the Energy Bill (HL) in the first day of the report stage. A vote was held on an amendment to the bill, in which bishops took part:

Baroness Blake of Leeds (Lab): 18: Clause 66, page 57, line 25, leave out “relevant market participants (see subsection (8))” and insert “the Consolidated Fund or gas shippers”
Member’s explanatory statement:
This amendment means the Secretary of State may put a levy on gas shippers, but may not put it on gas or electricity suppliers, thus taking responsibility for levies away from households. Hansard
