On 21st June 2023, the House of Lords debated Commons amendments to the National Security Bill. Votes were held on further amendments to the bill, in which Bishops took part:

Division 1:
The Bishop of Carlisle and the Bishop of St Edmundsbury & Ipswich voted in favour of a motion tabled by Lord Carlile of Berriew to insert a new clause into the bill requiring political parties to disclose any donations from a foreign power publicly and to the electoral commission.
