On 18th July 2023, the House of Lords debated the Levelling-up and Regeneration Bill in the Report stage. Votes were held on amendments to the bill, in which Bishops took part:

Division 1:
The Bishop of Bristol and the Bishop of St Albans took part in a vote on an amendment tabled by Baroness Taylor of Stevenage, which “would remove the current ban on establishing new municipal bus companies and would expand the powers required to franchise bus services, which are currently only available to Combined Authorities, to all local transport authorities.”

Division 2:
The Bishop of Bristol took part in a vote on an amendment tabled by Baroness Pinnock to leave out clause 129 of the Bill, which would establish a new infrastructure levy to replace the existing community infrastructure levy.
