On 20th March 2024, the House of Lords debated Commons Reasons and Amendments to the Safety of Rwanda Bill. Votes were held on motions to the bill, in which Bishops took part:

Division 1:
The Bishop of Chelmsford, the Bishop of Manchester, the Bishop of Southwell & Nottingham, and the Bishop of Worcester took part a motion tabled by Lord Coaker, to insert the stipulation “while having due regard for domestic and international law” into the bill.

unaccompanied children.

The Bishop of Chelmsford, the Bishop of Manchester, and the Bishop of Worcester took part in a vote on a motion tabled by Baroness Butler-Sloss, insisting that amendment 9 on protection for victims of modern slavery remain part of the bill.
