Bishop of St Albans asks about tackling rural homelessness

The Bishop of St Albans received the following written answer on 14th May 2025:

The Lord Bishop of St Albans asked His Majesty’s Government what steps they plan to take to tackle rural homelessness.

Baroness Taylor of Stevenage (Lab, MHCLG): Homelessness levels are far too high. The Government is taking the first steps to get back on track to ending homelessness, including rural homelessness. As announced at the Budget, funding for homelessness services has increased by £233 million this year, taking total spend to nearly £1 billion.

The Government is also developing a new cross-Government strategy, working with mayors and councils across the country to get us back on track to ending all forms of homelessness, including rural homelessness.
