On 19th May 2025, the House of Lords debated the Data (Use and Access) Bill. Votes were held on amendments to the bill, in which a Bishop took part:

The Bishop of Newcastle took part in a vote on an amendment to the bill tabled by Baroness Kidron which would introduce a “requirement to make provision in relation to transparency of copyrighted works used in relation to AI models.”
