On 16th July 2025, the House of Lords debated the Employment Rights Bill. Votes were held on an amendment to the bill, in which a Bishop took part:

The Bishop of Bristol took part in a vote on an amendment tabled by Lord Sharpe of Epsom to leave out clause 23 and insert the new clause Right not to be unfairly dismissed: reduction of qualifying period and introduction of initial period of employment.
