On the 13th July 2015 two bishops took part in three divisions  on the Government’s Cities and Local Government Devolution Bill.

The Bishop of Chester, the Rt Revd Peter Forster voted ‘Content’ with Lord McKenzie of Luton’s amendment 3 to clause 1 of the Cities and Local Government Devolution Bill:

Amendment 3, in clause 1, page 1, line 8, at end to insert: “( ) An order under subsection (1) shall not be used as a condition for agreeing to the transfer of local authority or public authority functions.”
