Vote: Queen’s Speech Motion on Brexit and single market

On 28th June 2017 the House of Lords voted on a motion to add an amendment to the Queen’s Speech, following a debate on exiting the European Union. The Archbishop of York took part.

The motion, in the name of Labour Peer Lord Adonis, was:

“As an amendment to the motion that a Humble Address be presented to Her Majesty, at end to insert “but regret that it contains no proposal for Her Majesty’s Government to seek to negotiate continued membership of the European Single Market and Customs Union.””

The results were: Content: 104, Not Content: 172. Amendment disagreed.

The Archbishop of York voted ‘Not Content’.
