Week in Westminster, 11th-15th February 2019

This week in the House of Lords bishops spoke in a debate about UK immigration policy, and asked questions about child refugees, the beef farming sector, alternatives to plastics, and tensions between Rwanda and Burundi . Bishops also took part in a vote on an amendment about death penalty assurances, to the Crime (Overseas Production Orders) Bill.

The Bishop of Salisbury was on duty throughout the week, reading prayers at the start of each sitting day in the House of Lords.


Monday 11th February

The Bishop of Salisbury asked a question about child refugees.

Two bishops took part in a vote on an amendment about death penalty assurances, to the Crime (Overseas Production Orders) Bill.


Tuesday 12th February

The Bishop of St Albans asked a question about beef farming post-Brexit.


Wednesday 13th February

The Bishop of Durham received a written answer to a question on tensions between Rwanda and Burundi.

The Bishop of Salisbury asked Government about the development of alternatives to plastics.


Thursday 14th February

The Bishop of Durham spoke in a debate about UK immigration policy.


Friday 15th February

The House of Lords did not sit.
