On 31st March 2022, the House of Lords debated Commons Amendments to the Judicial Review and Courts Bill. There were votes on several amendments, in which Bishops took part.

The Bishop of Worcester took part in a vote on an amendment tabled by Lord Etherton concerning appeal decisions:
Lord Etherton moved amendment 5, to leave out clause 2 and insert the new clause Limitation of review of Upper Tribunal’s permission-to-appeal decisions.

The Bishop of St Albans took part in a vote on an amendment by Lord Ponsonby of Shulbrede:
Lord Ponsonby of Shulbrede moved amendment 25, after clause 44, to insert the new clause Publicly funded legal representation for bereaved people at inquests.
The amendment was agreed. Content: 136 / Not Content: 112.
