On 30th April 2024, the House of Lords debated the Victims and Prisoners Bill in the report stage. Votes were held on amendments to the bill, in which Bishops took part:

Division 1:
The Bishop of Lincoln took part in a vote on an amendment tabled by Baroness Meacher seeking to ensure that the personal data of a victim of a crime is not used for any immigration control purpose without the consent of that person.
The amendment was agreed. Content: 214 / Not Content: 208

Division 2:
The Bishop of Lincoln and the Bishop of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich took part in a vote on an amendment tabled by Baroness Brinton, which would ensure that victims be made aware of the Unduly Lenient Sentencing scheme.

Division 3:
The Bishop of Leeds, the Bishop of Lincoln, the Bishop of Sheffield, and the Bishop of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich took part in a vote on an amendment tabled by Lord Ponsonby and Baroness Thornton, introducing a statutory duty which “would require public authorities, public servants and officials to act in the public interest and with transparency, candour and frankness when carrying out their duties in relation to major incidents.”

Division 4:
The Bishop of Lincoln and the Bishop of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich took part in a vote on an amendment tabled by Lord Wills, introducing a new clause, Power of Secretary of State to establish an inquiry on major incidents.
