On 10th January 2022, the House of Lords debated the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill in the Report stage. Votes were held on amendments to the Bill, in which Bishops took part.

Division 2:
The Bishop of Durham, the Bishop of Gloucester, the Bishop of Leeds, and the Bishop of Manchester took part in a vote on an amendment tabled by Baroness Meacher, requiring that Parliament review the results of the pilot Serious Violence Prevention Orders included in the bill.

Division 3:
The Bishop of Gloucester and the Bishop of Leeds took part in a vote on an amendment tabled by Lord Marks of Henley Upon Thames. The amendment proposed a Women’s Justice Board to address the needs of women in the criminal justice system.
Lord Marks of Henley-on-Thames moved amendment 97, after clause 164, to insert the new clause Women’s Justice Board.
